How I automated boring task tracking in Pinpoint
A few weeks ago I was drowning in small admin stuff tracking candidate stages, updating notes after interviews, chasing people for feedback. I swear half my workday was clicking buttons instead of actually building anything.
So I got curious and started tinkering with the Pinpoint API. I am not exactly a backend wizard, but after a few failed attempts (and a day lost to debugging webhooks that refused to fire), I finally set up a small script that automatically updates candidate statuses and pings our team Slack when new applications drop in.
It’s not flashy, but wow the difference. It shaved off like 2 hours of nonsense per day. Now, I can actually focus on the stuff that matters, like refining our hiring scorecards or experimenting with some data visualizations for better interview analytics.
I even had time to finish an overdue uni project last week I was using the best nursing coursework writing service to help me outline my research sections (don’t judge). That’s how deep the time crunch was before I automated all this.
Anyway, I’m curious anyone else here using Pinpoint’s API or webhooks to automate workflow stuff? Especially around HR data syncing or reporting? I’d love to see how others are wiring this up. Maybe we could even start a mini “automation corner” in this forum share scripts, integrations, etc.
